Lakeisha Gantt



LaKeisha Gantt, a native Athenian, grew up in the Pauldoe housing community. She attended Clarke Central High School, Mercer University, and the University of Georgia. As a young girl, LaKeisha attended Mt. Pleasant and Hill Chapel Baptist Church; currently she and her family are members of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. She and her husband, Julius, have four children ages 16, 14, 11 and 6. She is a licensed psychologist, licensed certified counselor, and certified school counselor. LaKeisha has provided therapy services to diverse and marginalized populations including international students, individuals with severe and persistent mental illnesses, and families impacted by poverty.  She also has expertise in providing organizational development in areas related to psychologically healthy work environments, school climate, and multicultural competency. As a minister she has coordinated efforts such as the church’s Feed the Homeless program, Grief Ministry, and Women’s Ministry. Currently, LaKeisha teaches as an Assistant Professor at Piedmont College and manages her small private practice through which she provides clinical and consultative services.
