A Statewide Celebration of Strategy, Community & Family Fun
This July 20th, something epic is happening across Georgia—and you’re invited.
In celebration of International Chess Day, Chess & Community is hosting a multi-city experience like no other. From Athens to Atlanta to Macon, families, chess lovers, and community members of all ages will come together for a day filled with strategy, connection, and celebration.
Three Cities. Three Zones. One Unforgettable Day.
This isn’t just another chess tournament. It’s a statewide festival that brings the joy of chess and the heart of the community into one powerful experience. Each city—Athens (Creature Comforts Brewery), Atlanta (SweetWater Brewery), and Macon (Fall Line)—will feature three immersive chess zones:
🤝Zone 1: Casual Play for All | Whether you're just learning the ropes or you’ve got a few victories under your belt, Zone 1 is a space for relaxed, open play. Pull up a chair, make a new friend, and make your move.
🏆 Zone 2: The Competitive Arena | Where the top players go head-to-head. Officially ranked competitors must RSVP to battle it out for a $250 cash prize and bragging rights. This is serious strategy—pure precision, no distractions. REGISTER HERE
🌐 Zone 3: Virtual Reality Chess | Step into the future. With cutting-edge VR technology, this zone connects all three cities in real-time—allowing players to compete across the state without ever leaving their location. Yes, really.
Beyond the Board
This is more than chess—it’s a Sunday Funday designed for the whole family. Think live DJ, face painting, local food trucks, chess play using student built robots, and a whole lot of joy. Whether you're there to compete, to learn, or simply soak in the good vibes, there’s something for everyone.
